300 IVY
2014

Firm: David Baker Architects
Landscape architect: Fletcher Studio
Client: Ivy Grove Partners LLC

Occupying a parcel of land where the now demolished Central Freeway once stood—300 Ivy is a sustainable mixed-use development of 63 new market rate and on-site affordable homes and shops. On the corner of two prominent Streets in Hayes Valley, the development creates an active street frontage with traffic calming bulb-outs and chicanes that serve to expand the public space. The main entry is a lush welcoming path that winds through a garden, passed ample bike parking into the main entry.  The roof garden provides the tenants with a robust common space, an outdoor kitchen, and urban agriculture. The project in LEED Platinum certification.
