HUNTER’S VIEW
2017

Firm: David Baker Architects
Client: John Stewart Company

107 new home of affordable public housing for two steeply sloped blocks in Hunters View, on an existing distressed San Francisco Housing Authority site. The site was completely reconfigured with a welcoming neighborhood master plan that reconnects Hunters View with the surrounding community. Two accessible, five-story apartment buildings are situated on the most level portion of the site on Fairfax Avenue. Row houses step down the steeper adjacent streets. Our design strategy includes designing a range of facades with design partner Paulett Taggart Architects, to create a rich and varied street wall with a diversity of scale, texture, and style.
