Calumet Storefront Historic Restoration
Collaborator: Bowline Studio

A historic facade restoration for Kin Ship in downtown Calumet, Michigan. Kin Ship is a not-for-profit gallery, studio, and residency for rural resiliency for the future. Calumet is an old copper ore boom town on Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. The entire town is a ‘National Historic Park’, and thus has strict design guidelines for work done on existing buildings within the downtown core.
The historic restoration design was generated from historic photographs of the storefront and the neighboring buildings.
